Head Of European Store Design & PlanningTesco Oct 2002 - Feb 2007Reporting to the European Board of CEO's I developed teams across 5 countries to deliver stores formats to 'win' against their local competition yet remain true to Tesco core principles. Countries were Czech Republic, Slovak Republic, Hungary, Poland and TurkeyWhilst in role had responsibility to create 5,000m hypermarkets, 3,000m destination discount stores and 1,000m soft discount stores to compete against German discount chains requiring siginifcant operational model changeAlso created the 'Tesco way' for Convenience stores which documented best practice to deliver convenience stores across the 13 Tesco countries. -

Global Hypermarket Design & Planning ManagerTesco Stores Ltd Jun 1998 - Oct 2000Created Tesco 'Global Hypermarket' model rolled out across the world and implemented in Thailand, Korea, Poland, Hungary, Czech & Slovak Republic and supported the new countries of Malaysia. From this I was required to take this model back to the UK and open first UK Global Hypermarket in Newcastle. Store opened with significant success and became the basis for all Tesco Extra going forward. Then coached UK team to create 80,000 and 60,000 sq. ft. versions
