This wide-ranging, evolving position included large development efforts in internal and external products. Much work was done with the flagship GPCM product, including completing a proof-of-concept re-development using modern development tools from Microsoft. Leading technology upgrade from Access and VB5/6, to the modern suite of .NET/Visual Studio tools.This included specifying or participating in specification of development, testing, release and other technical/administrative procedures, implementing all of these, running the implementation and getting buy-in by stake-holders. Mentoring all developers in aspects of modern development technology, including the company's founder and original developer.Over time, improved or developed a number of internal products used to collect, clean, and pre-analyze the massive amounts of data being collected. This included a .NET desktop application with a large variety of statistical functions for analysis, and for development of supply and demand curves for the flagship GPCM product, which provides market forecasts based on a model of natural gas production transportation, consumption, import and export (among other things).

This startup included 3 industry consultants in the collision repair/insurance industries. I was recruited by one of the original founders, with whom I'd done a number of projects in the past. I was the only tech person in the startup and, as such, created literally every technology asset personally. This was like a major consulting gig - working with non-technical experts to extract - well, not even requirements, but actually getting THEM to understand what was needed to come up with requirements, shepherding that process along.This proceeded into all phases of design, coding, implementation, testing, issue and release management, quality inspection and improvement. All work in Visual Studio, ASP.NET and .NET generally (all work in C#). The main product was a web application that used sophisticated scheduling algorithms to maximize productive work activity, minimize shop downtime, and get the most cars through their repair process with speed and certainty, improving both the unit profitability and overall productivity of the shop.Note that these were not mom-and-pop repair shops, but multi-million-dollar per year operations, often involving chains of repair facilities.The product was successfully developed, delivered, maintained, and provided all services and functionality requested. Scheduling methodology was based largely on Goldratt's Theory of Constraints.

Consultant. Developed database and web applications to re-engineer a number of internal applications used to plan and track production jobs. Reduced data duplication, improved reliability and dramatically reduced support and setup requirements from the original applications. Used Visual Interdev, ASP, VBScript, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, XML, HTML, DHTML, ERwin, and SQL Server under Windows Server.
