As the manager of the Service Desk I’m responsible for a team of 8 direct reports and the day to day management of the Service Desk function. It’s my responsibility to ensure the Service Desk matures effectively by using ITIL continual improvement methods and regular well structured 1-2-1’s with each team member. It’s key that KPI’s and SLA’s set by the department are met and maintained. I use KPI/SLA targets and our internal controls targets to shape the overall focus of the individual and teams objectives and goals.

In this role I worked as a member of a technical IT service desk which supports the Princes Foods commercial and operational IT systems. During my time in this role I established myself as a senior member of the team and became a point of escalation for the more technical queries that get raised to our department. This role required me and the team to be a first point of contact for all IT queries within normal business hours and also required me to be a single point of contact responsible for the support of operational IT systems on a rotated out of hours basis.

I contracted in the ITS department at Ricoh for the Christmas period. My role here was a Service Desk Analyst providing first line support via telephone and remote services.
