Richard (Blake) Goodwyn is a visionary engineer who excels at turning innovative ideas into reality. With a background in mechanical design engineering, he is committed to crafting meaningful and well-executed solutions. His work spans a wide range of industries, including consumer electronics, medical devices, robotics, and agricultural technology.Blake is driven by a passion for integrating the physical and digital worlds to create cutting-edge technologies that address critical global challenges such as climate change, ethical AI and robotics, and sustainable manufacturing. Currently, he is applying his expertise to develop comprehensive early-stage wildfire detection systems with Pyri.His diverse skill set includes mechanical design, technology development, system architecture, mechatronics, motion control, structural design, sensor integration, and rapid prototyping. Known for his ability to solve complex technical problems, Blake is also highly skilled at collaborating with clients and leading cross-disciplinary teams to deliver impactful solutions.Blake holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering with a Computer Science minor from Cornell University, along with a dual Master’s in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art. Beyond his professional pursuits, he is an enthusiastic backpacker, rock climber, and baker. He also enjoys mentoring, traveling, experimenting with web development, jamming to music, and contributing to nature conservation efforts.
