Born in Slovakia in 2001, I have grown up in surroundings rather different from those of Western Europe. I have thus decided to explore the world and see how people live in different countries. I took every opportunity I could to spend more time living in yet another culture and I am very grateful to be able to say that apart from Slovakia, I got to live for quite some time in the USA, Netherlands and Australia as well. This showed me that there is not just one right way to live or govern the country in ways of healthcare, but there are uncountable such that are far from perfect. And in the future I would like to contribute to equalizing these discrepancies within the population.I finished my secondary education degree by graduating a class with an extended study of mathematics at Párovská Gymnasium, Nitra, with a diploma of straight A's and a history rich with several state competitions in Math and Geography. In my 11th grade I went as an exchange student to Florida for one academic year. There I perfected my English, got confronted with a culture shock for the first time in my life and realized that I am a very easily adaptable person.After receiving my high-school diploma, I set out on another journey, this time to the Netherlands, where I currently live too. I have done my Bachelor degree here in Biomedical Sciences. I had chosen this degree as it fit my field of interests and also matched my will to work on something that could eventually make a difference in the world. For my minor I was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to study at the partner university in Australia. Here I focused mainly on public health and took courses which built on the basics of this field as taught in Maastricht. I have returned back to the Netherlands to finish my degree and in line with my minor, I worked as an intern on a project investigating the differences between the sexes regarding the comorbidity of cardiovascular diseases and depression in relation to environmental factors. Continuing my path in the sphere of public health I am now doing my Master study in Governance and Leadership in European Public Health.Apart from education, I am very active at the university in a number of other ways. Firstly I have worked as a student assistant at the Marketing & Communications department of my faculty since January 2022. I was also an active member of multiple student associations including SA Helix and MSZV Tiburón. I consider myself to be an ambitious, hard-working and friendly person and I enjoy spending time with people, travelling and trying new things.
