As as founding member of the Conservation Alliance for Seafood solutions, I served several positions on the board over multiple terms. During my time on the board we successfully transitioned the Alliance from a foundation led initiative to a fiscally sponsored program. During my time on the board we successfully transitioned the Alliance from a foundation led initiative to a fiscally sponsored program. I had the pleasure of overseeing the finances during the transition ultimately recommending the transition as a way to have greater autonomy while dramatically reducing the budget for our activities. This transition opened up budget to expand the work of the Alliance. I helped to design and hire the first staff positions for the Alliance ultimately onboarding them as we moved toward a new working model. I am incredibly proud of the work that the Alliance has done in breaking down the barriers between many of the NGOs in the sustainable seafood space and welcoming and recruiting more industry. Convening is a role that should never be undervalued in conservation and human rights efforts; without it inefficiencies grow without bounds. Show less
