As a Senior Developer at CareCentrix, I work on the application development team to implement and maintain new and existing features on a couple of our web portal applications. Both frontend and backend development are required.

As an Intellect contractor working at HealthPlan Services, I worked as part of the "Service Portals" team implementing web portals for clients of the company, including major insurance carriers.

Statement of Responsibility - Development of highly scalable website frameworks that had to accommodate very high volumes of network traffic with minimal to no network latency. The common framework that was developed was rolled out into production on 29 different sites and was easily branded and skinnable. Made recommendations to the management and the system administration teams as to specific hardware/software requirements for various projects. Specific duties included the following - The implementation of web-based applications based on business and technical requirements. Created a Sphinx library in PHP that provided an API that was used to execute high-performing text searches on a MySQL database backend. I also maintained the Subversion repository for the whole development team, and maintained our development environment and associated technologies, including Apache, PHP, MySQL and DNS services. Created initial web page templates in the Smarty template language for use by designers, so that they could easily manipulate the cosmetics of the various sites that were running on the framework. Other development efforts included designing, implementing and maintaining Zend Framework based websites.

Main focus on design and implementation of software systems required by channel partners including Ebay, Comcast, and AOL. Continued maintenance of legacy provisioning systems. Specific duties included the following - The design, implementation, testing, integration, and deployment of new and/or improved Internet services and/or products. Heavy work on back- end provisioning systems utilizing XMLRPC server modules written in C running as an Abyss webserver module, and user-facing web interfaces written primarily in Perl via CGI.pm, PHP, Java, and Python. Extensive database development, administration, and interaction utilizing MySQL, MSSQL, and DB2. Maintenance of legacy resource provisioning system written in Perl.

Specific duties included the following - The design, implementation, testing, integration, and deployment of new and/or improved Internet services and/or products. Heavy work on back- end provisioning systems utilizing XMLRPC server modules written in C running as an Abyss webserver module, and user-facing interfaces written primarily in PHP. Extensive database development, administration, and interaction utilizing MySQL and MSSQL. Maintenance of legacy resource provisioning system written in Perl. When serving as team lead, made sure that projects were on schedule and that resources were being allocated properly and efficiently, assisting with the solution of any issues faced by the team as they arose. Usually worked in an environment without any budgetary constraints, only recommending what was needed to get specific projects completed. Statement of Responsibility - Development and integration of testing scripts needed to support the Systems Integration and Engineering department. Specific duties included the following - The design and implementation of automated software testing suites which were used by the Quality Assurance department in testing new and current models of hardware telephony switches. Automated software testing suites were written in Perl, with heavy use of Perl's SNMP module.
