Long Term Care Assistant AdministratorEbony Lake Healthcare 2009 - 2010Brownsville, Texas Area• Supervise over 120 employees at 120 Bed Skilled Nursing Facility, Brownsville,Texas• Responsibilities include daily walk through of entire facility, conducting daily department head meetings, conducting mock surveys with director of nursing consultant from Management Company, performed audits with MDS coordinator and MDS consultant, monthly review of profit and loss statement with Administrator, lead and participated in Q and A meeting with Medical Director and department hears, and overseeing the daily operations of the facility.Selected Achievements: Budget Planning & Cost Control: Asked to develop and research a program to evaluate housekeeping/ laundry budget and determine why department was over budget for the month. When the administrator assign this task first needed to understand housekeeping/laundry monthly budget for the facility. Taking over this task understanding there were three parts to the monthly budget which are laundry(chemicals), housekeeping (supplies) and linens.Once researching each area determine supplies was over budget. Once determining it was supplies and exactly trash bags was the overage. Implement a system when any employee would request trash bags he or she would have to sign for them. Result: The expense of trash bags went down considerable and the department was back on the monthly budget.Marketing: Selected target markets after determining strengths, weakness, opportunities and threats which is a SWOT analysis. Weakness was exposure throughout area and threats were other facilities.Marketing plan was to target local hospitals and rehabilitation centers and the owners of the adult day care centers. The marketing manger and I had a luncheon in our rehabilitation center in the facility explaining we strive for a common goal to work towards getting residents independent and the ability to return home. Results: Marketing plan increased occupancy from 80% to 95%. The luncheon at our facility was a direct result of two referrals.
