I built and managed an equity trading desk that specialized in providing outsourced global trading for US hedge funds and institutions. Alongside trading US, European and Asian equities I provide bespoke coverage to a wide variety of active portfolio managers, ensuring timely dissemination of news-flow, research and market activity in all relevant single stocks, sectors and markets.

I joined Diamondback in February 2008 to head the firm’s international trading desk. I managed a centralized European and Asian trading team working live hours out of Diamondback’s Stamford and NY offices.I traded European stocks, futures and options for the whole firm. An average day would see c200 trades among all sectors/regions/asset classes, dealing for approximately 20 different portfolio managers, all with different styles and personalities.The centralization of the desk allowed for extremely efficient trading and management of our relationships with the street; not just in terms of immediate news-flow dissemination and commission allocation but corporate access, research, trading calls, stock loan, prime broking, relationships with syndicates, etcAlongside my primary role of managing International trading for the firm, I ran the European IPO and secondaries books.Over the years I have built extremely strong relationships with the Street that served to enhance the efficiency of the firm’s trading, especially in progressively more difficult markets where a trading edge is vital.

I Joined Clareville out of University to work on the firm’s flagship long/short European equity hedge fund ‘The Pegasus Fund’. AUM when I joined were $25mln, reaching a 2006 peak of $950mln. I worked directly with the firm’s founder David Yarrow throughout my time at Clareville; in a research/analysis capacity as I learned the ropes of the industry and later as head trader for the firm. I was the 2nd employee at the firm and having seen the firm expand (and decrease) in terms of assets and employees (30 people at the peak) I am familiar with the workings of back, middle and front office and the importance of relationships not only with sell-side brokers but with prime brokers, administrators, lawyers, compliance officers, human resources, etcI traded primarily European equities, futures and index/single stock options for the numerous portfolio managers and my own trading book that fell under the Pegasus Fund umbrella, the Pegasus India Fund and the Shackleton Fund (UK mid cap). Pegasus yielded an annualized compound return of 12.5% during my years at the firm.
