Programme delivery management of digital change for new Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs), including IT system interoperability between InHealth and several NHS Trusts and system changes to support new ways of working for the CDCs. The InHealth CDCs are part of the pivotal national initiative to reform diagnostic services, aiming to improve access and reduce inequalities, increase capacity and productivity, and deliver better services with improved population health outcomes. I provided leadership and had oversight for the work of the InHealth product teams. I was also responsible for closely engaging with and coordinating NHS Trust teams and their systems’ suppliers. I managed the delivery from initiation and defining requirements, through to full implementation of the change in the numerous systems that support the end-to-end diagnostic pathway. The delivery enabled NHS referrals to be sent digitally, patient care to be transferred and managed safely, and for data to flow efficiently to each system, including results and reports being provided back to the referring NHS organisations to support the patient’s onward care.

A programme delivery lead for the Digital Transformation of Screening Programme; seeking to change the way that the national NHS Screening Programmes operate by delivering new digital and assisted digital products and services. Managed multiple multi-disciplinary teams through extended Discovery and into Alpha, Business Case development, defining product and service scope and requirements, and design and delivery strategy. Responsibilities across programme and delivery management including commercial, finance, resource and supplier management, risk, planning, team management etc.I also initiated and led the early stages of delivery of a planning tool for the national Breast Screening programme in response to the impacts of COVID on the service. There was a pressing need to improve how the eligible population is planned to be screened in order to support service recovery.

Part of the Programme Management and leadership team for the Cervical Screening Management System Programme; seeking to transition the national NHS Cervical Screening programme from outdated legacy technology to a new IT platform (Cervical Screening Management System).Initiated and managed key aspects of planning and governance for the programme from its early lifecycle of delivery, establishing and maturing process and tooling. Introduced the delivery support functions (IG, assurance, implementation) and coordinated the workstreams alongside system development.

Managed a number of projects on the GP Connect (Direct Care APIs) Programme; seeking to improve IT system interoperability across the NHS through the development of and connection to interfaces with General Practice (GP) systems. This enabled national level sharing of patient records and GP appointment booking, which was vital during the COVID pandemic and remains a highly beneficial service used by NHS organisations at significant scale.I coordinated the development of API specifications, which adopted open (FHIR) standards and supported integration with the NHS Spine. I managed multiple suppliers, leading them through assurance and live service introduction.

As part of an NHS leadership training programme I was seconded to Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust to lead on a project; seeking to implement a new dataset into the Trust's Electronic Health Record, supporting a move to ‘paper free’ wards and improving the rate of same day hospital discharges. I led the project delivery and implementation of the change, piloting it across several Same Day Emergency Care wards, which proved out the capability and in turn fed back into the dataset national strategy.
