Dr. Richard Chuang is a Principal Architect with Intel Corporation focusing on media streaming, AI systems and solutions, algorithms, and workload accelerations in the Network and Edge Group. He is also working on media data curation, LLM/RAG/GAI solutions that support Enterprise AI at the edge.Outside of Richard's daily works, he is also interested in quantum computing and Qiskit, and exploring the path to the acceleration of Bayesian-based explainable AI models with ways to expose causality and prediction entropy.Richard led the system-level designs and optimization of algorithms and workload accelerations for data center and AI applications. He has extensive experience in developing XPU-based platforms and solutions, leveraging the capabilities of CPU, iGPU, dGPU, FPGA, VPU, and deep learning / IoT products. He also creates software tools and end-to-end solutions for various domains. He is an inventor of eight US patents and an author of more than 90 publications and white papers in journals and conferences. His research achievements have been recognized and featured by global media outlets such as BBC News, Discovery Channel, EE Times, New Scientists, etc. He holds two B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Information Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Tamkang University, one M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Tamkang University, and two Ph.D. degrees in Biomedical Engineering and Biomechatronics Engineering from National Taiwan University.Richard is a Senior Member of IEEE.
