Since 2012, I have been working as private tutor. I have successfully tutored pupils in Mathematics, Computing (Java/Python programming for GCSE controlled assessment and A-level projects), Physics and Geography at GCSE and A-level. With my help, pupils have improved as many as 4 GCSE or 3 A-level grades in about 6-9 months. I have also provided training to adults undertaking higher education access courses, on Microsoft Office products and Python Programme).In 2009, I decided to retrain as a Secondary Mathematics Teacher. I completed the OU's Undergraduate Certificate in Mathematics, then a PGCE at Roehampton University and was awarded Qualified Teacher Status in July 2011. However, I realised that I did not enjoy the classroom behaviour and “edutainment” aspects of teaching in the 2010s, but I do enjoy the activity of teaching itself - hence becoming a private tutor.Between 1984 and 2009, I worked in a variety of IT related roles, covering PC/Unix systems support (scripting), systems and applications design/programming (Java/Python/SQL/C/FORTRAN/BASIC), Systems/Business Analysis, Programme/Project/ Service/Change Management, etc. Through these roles, and also my voluntary work, I have developed skills in business strategy, financial and staff management .From 2002-2007, I was Change Manager at the Police IT Organisation working on and the National Police HR & Duty Management System and geographic Information systems. I also provided technical architecture expertise on ORACLE and Unix/Linux server.In 2007, PITO merged with CENTREX and I was promoted to Product Manager and was the National Lead for the NSPIS HR System overseeing its upgrade to the (then) current version Oracle RDBMS and Enterprise Suite, which rebadged as 'ORIGIN HR'. I also remained the National Lead for Police GIS.Whilst enjoying tutoring, I am also seeking roles that utilise my skills and experience in Computing, Service Management and Programme/Project Management.
