My position was in the Valve Automation SBU. I contributed as part of a engineering team that specialized in the design and fabrication of Hydraulic systems. These are most notably Industrial applications such as Press Brakes and valve operations. My work entailed applying and updating design modifications in the machine shop and on the Computer Automated Design software, Solidworks. I also cofunctioned with safety engineers in the office to optimize the implementation of safety in both the design and applications of our products.

My placement was as part of the Rotating Equipment Reliability Team in the Mechanical Engineering Department. I Collaborated as part of the team to maintain analyze turbo machinery e.g. pumps, motors, centrifugal+reciprocating compressors. I Reduced pump maintenance costs by designing critical AutoCAD drawings e.g. cooling/lube oil and mechanical seal systems. I Succeed in cutting inventory costs and increasing the organization of bill of materials by compiling data for MS Access and comparing current stock needs to past purchasing trends. Also I Assisted professionals in the field Through diagnostic work e.g. vibration and failure analysis, temperature trends, and preventative maintenance.

I worked in this lab as a work study. During my time at the lab I contributed to advance experimental progress regarding the piezoelectric inkjet printing nozzle. I helped by reviewing mathematical data and participating in the experiments. I also assisted in maintaining the laboratory work space and equipment. This included fixing tools such as a vacuum pump, and using tools like test tube mixer. On my own time I identified areas of improvement and designed/developed solutions such as fixtures for lights in the experimental work space. Finally i was also charged with sustaining a clean work environment by cleaning sub straights and following the etiquette while in a lab.
