As a GIS Specialist and UAV Administrator at the City of Bloomington, IN, I have dedicated over four years to managing and enhancing the city's geospatial data infrastructure and UAV operations. My role focuses on the meticulous maintenance of critical GIS datasets such as road centerlines and addresses, crucial for maintaining accurate city services and dispatch systems. I collaborate closely with various departments, providing essential GIS support for initiatives ranging from public works projects to engineering updates. Additionally, I oversee the administration of UAV operations, ensuring effective data collection and analysis to support city planning and asset management. My expertise in ArcGIS Pro, ESRI Portal Web Platform, and Microsoft Excel enables me to generate detailed geospatial products and streamline data management processes. Through proactive communication and a commitment to excellence, I contribute to the city's strategic GIS initiatives, enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.

I joined VET at a transition period as Fields Environmental, Inc., my former employer, was acquired by VET Environmental Engineering, LLC in January 2018. As an experienced member of the Fields team I worked in part to transition services formerly provided by Fields to VET. One of my continual duties involved training VET personnel to be competent in tasks routinely conducted by Fields including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Environmental Assessments, multi-media sampling methodologies, low-flow groundwater sampling, ArcGis to name a few. Merging staff from two companies in the same general field, but with different specialties, allowed for unique challenges and learning opportunities that rarely manifest in larger, more established companies. A challenge that I overcame during this transition period was recognizing the subtle differences in individual's learning styles and personalizing my training approach accordingly.

As an environmental staff scientist for Fields Environmental, Inc. (Fields), Mr. Richard Creek contributes to a range of environmental and environmentally-related projects. Specific focus areas are Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Phase II Site Investigations, soil, indoor air, sub-slab soil gas, and passive soil-gas sampling, low-flow groundwater monitoring, recurring DNAPL Recovery events, database management, and compiling reports and figures. Mr. Creek has conducted environmental investigations on properties contaminated with chlorinated solvents and petroleum products, and collects multi-matrix samples for the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), lead, heavy metals, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs).

Prior to his employment with Fields Environmental, Inc. (December 2013), Mr. Creek interned at Fields Environmental, Inc. (FEI). At FEI (May 2013 to December 2013), Mr. Creek was responsible for maintinaing database records, assisting with Phase I ESA’s, water and soil sampling events, participated in a DNAPL Recovery program, and participating in UST tank removal events.

Prior to his employment with Fields Environmental, Inc. (May 2013), Mr. Creek interned at Alt & Witzig Engineering (A&W). At A&W (May 2012 to August 2012), Mr. Creek was responsible for maintaining database records, assisting with Phase I ESA’s, water and soil sampling events, participating in asbestos sampling, and participating in site remediation processes.
