I am an outdoor performance sportswear apparel designer for over 20 years. I have a comprehensive proficiency and expertise of each step of the garment process. Expert in Outdoor sportswear clothing and equipment collaborating with Teams to create Innovative solutions and designs.I possess an extensive knowledge and expertise of each aspect of the garment process - from concept and research to trends, range planning and design development, right through to bulk production and quality control.In that time, I have designed for the best and most proficient outdoor brands in the country and climbed with some of the best climbers in the world. I have a passion is mountaineering this passion has led me to producing what are now iconic garments and bringing innovative solutions to the finished product. Working along side a London fashion designers to create a 3D anatomical model to shape garments directly with the body. Then applying the insights to design and create the new England away kit for the World Cup 2010, which move and articulate with the footballer. As Senior Designer I oversee all Umbro fabric development and liaised with Nike departments on fabric and new techniques in development of Sportswear. -
Senior Designer For Brands Rab And OutdoordesignsRab Jan 2003 - Feb 2008During my time at equip, I was part of the reshaping of the Rab brand. Taking it from a small British manufacturing base, and expanding to the Far East. The garment range had to grow in order to compete with other top world wide brands, my expertise contributed, to this growth in the U.S and European markets. My job was to design and develop all the men’s and assist with the women’s clothing. I also developed gloves and equipment for both brands. On the many styles I’ve produced I have won many journalistic awards, these examples range from Latok Jacket, Bergan Jacket and Atlas sleeping Bag. I have redesigned the Down glove for Everest and the Arctic. I was in charge of designing the entire Extreme and Specialist product for the polar and high altitude climates. My role involved Design Development and to liaise with factories in the Far East and Europe, which included factory visits to China, Taiwan. With pattern cutting I have evolved Down products for high altitude climbing, to designing Cotton sportswear for casual ranges. I am proud to have designed products, which is some of the best clothing for the outdoors and extreme climates of the world. -

I Produced jackets like the Matrix Jacket which became a top seller. I oversaw & designed technical waterproof clothing, working closely with the Gore-tex company test team developing construction to improve performance in harsh environments. -
DesignerSprayway Feb 1999 - Aug 2002I designed lifestyle and technical clothing for the outdoor industry; I liaised with china factories, and went out to see them. The clothing ranged from travel wear to climber jackets. At Sprayway I was the first designer to bring Primaloft to Europe and recognise its benefits, which is now becoming an industry standard for synthetic insulation. -
