Richard De Leon is a qualified Mining Engineer with a passion for seeking out solutions for mining companies, employing effective mine planning strategies, as well as optimising mining business operations. Having graduated from The University of New South Wales in Sydney, Richard has spent the majority of his career in metals mining - covering open pit and underground operations, starting his career with BHP Billiton and CBH Resources in Australia, he quickly moved into more strategic mine planning through his experience in mine engineering consulting based in Sydney, this allowed him to be exposed to several different mine software solutions, and exposure on mining projects around the world. Richard is a Fellow Member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (FAusIMM)Richard is a well-traveled Mining Engineer, having extensive experience in different parts of the world in differing facets of the mining industry including corporate, training, technology solutions, business development, and consulting from projects in South America, Australia, Europe, and Asia with a key interest in helping developing countries bridge the gap towards best practice mine planning. With this focus, he has worked on projects throughout Asia and held a directorship role managing over 15 key mining assets through Exploration, Feasibility Studies, Construction, and Operations, having established and trained a new mining workforce with key involvement with establishing a mining company in Vietnam for an investment bank.For the past 10 years, Richard has been helping the APAC region with key involvement in ASEAN to realise its potential in mineral deposits, through consulting, guidance and expert advice on a wide range of mining scopes.
