Richard's ability to be able to consult with customers on Mine Planning and his interest in software solutions, made him ideal to be a Business Development Executive. Richard was also key in helping RPM Global (Formerly known as "Runge") to develop the world first interactive online e-learning training platform for the mining industry called Smartminer. Although his work covered the APAC region, he also was able to reach customers as fard as the UK and South Africa, utilizing his language skills to also gain entry into the South American market.Richard was also crucial for Smartminer to successfully gaining endorsement by the oldest mining school in Australia - University of Ballarat. Richard started his consulting career at Minarco MineConsult (MMC) in Sydney which was then absorbed into Runge Limited - now known as RungePincockMinarco - RPM Global. Richard spent his time at MMC learning various mine planning software solutions and working on mining projects. Richard quickly became skilled in Mine Design and Optimization primarily having Surpac as his tool of choice. Richard's software exposure with MMC included:- Surpac Engineer (OC Mine Design)- Surfer 8 & 9 User- Minescape- Minex- GEMS user- C#Richard provided mine design plans, scheduling, reporting and various other complex mining solutions to customers. With his language skills Richard was also able to get involved in projects abroad such as in Columbia. Richard was also instrumental in helping with he daily tasks of the office operation and being an active member in helping with company social events.

Worked for Nu Power Resources, which then changed name to Central Australian Phosphate Limited and now is acquired by Rum Jungle Resources as a Mining Engineer being an adviser to the CEO of Nu Power at the time and helping to sort through exploration data for Uranium tenements. I also helped to translate the company website into Spanish and French.My time was short at Nu Power Resources and was only for helping them when required, as my main employment had just started with RPM Global (Runge).

Worked with BHP Billiton UG, helping with studies on ARD Raise Bore drilling and Ventilation. Primarily spent time underground working with crews and learning different aspects of the operations.Successfully completed a study on raise bore drill rigs and decommissioned one of them. Also was a key person in monitoring the day to day ventilation systems.

This was a 3 month placement whilst still studying at Endevour mine, UG Lead and Zinc mine. Basically working UG on drill and blast.Also spent some time working with the Paste fill department for back filling stopes for stability.
