Water Authority- Cayman, provides desalinated drinking water to most of the island and wastewater collection to the tourist area community near Seven Mile Beach, Grand Cayman.Senior Engineering Manager, Operations - Responsible for the delivery, maintenance and improvements to the Cayman Water Authority public water supply and wastewater infrastructure. I managed the operational division. The water system consists of three reverse osmosis desalinization plants, eight reservoirs, four pumping stations, 325 km of pipelines which serve 14,000 connections. The wastewater system has 25km of collection, 300 connections (hotels and commercial) and a 9,500 m3/day sequencing batch reactor WWTP. I reported to the Deputy Director, and had an annual budget of $8 million, and a staff of 35. Responsible for planning the activities of the operational division for the short, medium and long term; monitoring all activities including manual and computerized records, and conversion of SCADA records into monthly and annual reports. I developed a number of Standard Operating Procedures, which the Authority lacked. These included confined space entry, reservoir inspection, cathodic protection system testing and verification. I was responsible for replacing and upgrading water mains in congested narrow streets, and rehabilitating leaking reservoirs.
