About Richard Eicher

It will be one (1) year February 1 that my last day at Halcon was finished. While I loved the challenges and people of HK it was the most intense 4 years of my career. It was a non-stop effort to "build and flip" that didn't work out the way we all wished. Since the downturn of Halcon I have taken some time off to recharge and spent months hiking Central America, Europe and the Rockies. I have scrapped barnacles off the hulls of boats in Florida, snorkeled and scuba dived throughout the Caribbean. From the beaches of of the DDay Invasion to the walls of Mount St. Michelle off the coast of France to the shores of Lake Como to the masses at Oktoberfest in Munich this past year has been something we all dream of doing. I am recharged and ready to take on new challenges and utilize all of my skill set for the benefit of a great company in need. I have an excellent understanding of the inner working of this industry. Having grown up in a family of geologists and engineers and worked in the oil patch as a roustabout, roughneck, field broker, landman and in the acquisition and divestitures and business development side of the business. I have been heavily involved in all facets of reviewing and evaluating deals, trends, properties, etc. These various companies for which I have worked and performed have provided me with the solid foundation upon which to utilize and apply this knowledge for the benefit of potential future employers.

Listed skills include Energy Industry, Natural Gas, Petroleum, Oil And Gas Industry, and 13 others.

Oil And Gas Industry Consultant

Current
Log Energy

Houston, Texas

LOG is my company that was formed for the purpose of participating in exploration and acquisition opportunities in conjunction with my then current employers at Mayne & Mertz, Inc. who offered Working Interest participation. I am currently utilizing LOG for the purpose of consulting for various companies with in the industry. My plans are to continue to offer my services along with my 37 years of experience to facilitate and audit acquisition, divestiture and exploration efforts of industry members.

Jan 1995 - Present

Manager Of Business Development And A&D Coordinator

1001 Louisiana, Suite 6700

Manager of Business Development/A&D to generate, review and evaluate deals and opportunities in the Onshore U.S. Manager of acquisitions and divestitures. As Manager we have reviewed countless opportunities throughout the entire Lower 48 including conventional and unconventional plays throughout. These include acquisitions, exploration opportunities and joint ventures. During my career at Halcon I have been directly involved in acquiring and divesting over $1B in oil and gas assets. Further, overseeing a in-house staff of 20-30 and up to 250 contractors in the field with a budget of $70M annually to fully integrate and divest of assets..

Oct 2014 - Feb 2016

Sr. Land Manager

Houston, Texas Area

Sr. Manager responsible for all land activities for Eagleford, Woodbine and Austin Chalk assets. Directed land managers and supporting staff of 30 plus professionals in all facets of acquisitions, divestitures and exploration. My team was directly responsible for completion of the drilling/completion/legal process of over 120 wells in less than 2 years without any title or legal issues in East Texas. That is unheard of and sets an example of great people and good oversight. We closely partnered with technical team and senior management on key acquisitions and divestitures. I led the critical role in developing and leading acquisitions in excess of $1B and headed divestiture of $500M in assets. I utilized and leveraged my experience and industry relationships to support company goals and objectives. As Halcon has consolidated I solidified my role more directly aligned with Business Development and Acquisitions and Divestitures.

Mar 2012 - Oct 2014

Land Manager

Mayne & Mertz, Inc.

Houston, Texas

As a successful Independent Exploration Company MMI was a leader in identifying seismic indicators in SW Louisiana. I was directly involved in all phases of these plays from surface, land, trades and title. Further, MMI put together a 510 square mile 3D shoot covering a huge portion of SW Alabama. This was at the time the largest onshore 3D venture ever performed by an Independent Oil and Gas Company. Tracking the permitting process to insure landowner rights were not violated was one of the most difficult challenges of my career. In late 2007-2009 we moved into W. Texas where due to the lack of brokers I personally spent over a year negotiating and acquiring over 200,000 net mineral acres in the Wolfberry Trend. We drilled several marginal wells, but salvaged the project by selling to EOG where they drilled over 150 wells.

May 2005 - Mar 2012

Vice President Land

Houston, Texas

As the Vice President of Land I built a staff from scratch to over 20 employees and was directly responsible for multiple acquisitions that catapulted BSM from a family owned enterprise to what is now one of the largest private mineral owner in the US. In 1995 BSM, through its affiliated companies W. T. Carter and Bro., Black Stone Holdings and BSM we began a huge exploration play in SE Texas wherein we acquired over 250,000 net acres, shot hundreds of miles of 3D and drilled over 40 exploratory wells in an attempt to duplicate Black Stones Double A Wells Field in Polk County, Texas. That venture was the driving mechanism to concentrate on becoming a pure mineral acquisition company. During my tenure we concluded the purchase of over 2 million gross mineral acres involving 15-20 purchases including Kirby Minerals, Ocean Exploration and Pure Minerals to mention a few. Along with these minerals came interests in over 20,000 wells that were set up, tracked and insured that proper revenue was credited to BSM. This was a task of enormous proporations and with the help of great group was done in record time with incredible accuracy.

Apr 1995 - May 2005

Senior Land Manager

Pelto Oil/Edc Exploration

Houston, Texas

Pelto Oil was a spin off of Southdown Sugars enormous surface holdings in S Louisiana. Pelto moved from drilling on its lands to the shelf offshore Louisiana and then south along the Gulf Coast Texas where we had tremendous success drilling Yegua/Cook Mountain and Wilcox plays. In 2000 Pelto was acquired by EDC Exploration. My responsibilities were that of a staff Landman and then promoted to Senior Land Manager Onshore US. My areas of responsibilities ranged from New Mexico to Mississippi for all new ventures and drilling and exploration. EDC was sold in 1995, thus my change to BSM.

Jun 1988 - Apr 1995

Landman

Imc Exploration, Inc.

Houston/Shreveport

First job out of the University of Texas. I was mentored by one of the best ever, a gentleman by the name of Cletus Duty. He was the perfect teacher with an eye for perfection and patience for teaching. I hired on as a Junior Landman and by the time IMC folded its tent I was promoted to Landman. I worked the Tuscaloosa Trend of S. LA to the Smackover in N LA and NE Texas. This first job along with Mr. Duty provided me with a strong skill set to learn and contribute to this great industry. Like everyone after the crash of 1983 we did anything to survive. I brokered and worked in-house on a consulting basis until Pelto hired me. It was a tough time and a time for soul seaching.

May 1980 - Apr 1984

Specialist Fourth Class-43E2P-Parachute Rigger

United States Military-82Nd Airborne-Vietnam Era Veteran

Fort Bragg, North Carolina

Honorably discharged. I joined the military to help sort out what I wanted to do in life. It was a great experience, but also taught me that being able to be one's self was more important. Team work is a wonderful thing and great leadership is key. I truly believe that things that I learned during this time taught me a lot about life and how best to lead it.
