I work at Midlands Technical College under contract.The campuses that I work or have worked at are:- Airport Campus- Batesburg-Leesville Campus- Beltline Campus- Harbison CampusAt this location I learned that basics of a Security Officer which are as follow:-Writing tickets- Patrolling for long periods of time- having long shifts at times 13+ hours at times- how to approach different situations whether it is volatile or not- Using a "Walkman" to hit points on a designated route- Using the radio while learning 10 codes- Spotting safety issues with not only buildings but things that people could potentially use to hurt another person or also known as a weapon of opportunity.- Learned different ways of securing up a building and or area besides with a regular key or security system which include pins in the door or chains around a door (though this is for outside gates and things not for doors on buildings), I have even had to use levers and cones to block off certain areas for security reason. - Have used a security truck to deliver things from campus to campus before (this is not so often). Also with the security truck learned how to patrol and when to patrol, when to use the lights on the truck.I have also for a short time worked at a MallDutch Square Mall which during my time there I learned a whole new side of security work that I never knew existed. I learned the proper protocol to detaining subjects and also learned from Loss Prevention on what to do and what not to do. During the time I was working at the mall I also learned how to do a trespass notice, at least the way they wanted to do it.

This company put me through a course with a test on how to become a security officer then never really taught me on anything else. I did not learn what to do, I got very seldom work especially for a full time position. I filled in working at US Foods, I worked at Liquidating Businesses and after that I worked over at University of South Carolina, same company just did not tell me where to go. I worked over at USC maybe three times and after that did not get told what site to go to. Was not very good communication at all.
