I've had a passion for photography since childhood, and after studying at Aberdeen University, qualifying as a Chartered Surveyor, and careers in surveying, professional stock photography for Getty Images and property development in London, I qualified as a commercial drone pilot in 2014 and set up Richard Elliott Aerial Filming.Specialising in remote areas, my stock photographs for Getty have sold to many prestigious clients over the last 30 years. My final property development in London was the construction of “The Glass House” in Highgate Cemetery, which won major architectural awards for the design team. During my ownership of the house I established it as a filming and event location, with TV series such as Waking the Dead & Luther produced there.I'm based in Scotland & a member of the Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, operating worldwide - please have a look at my website which I update regularly (www.reaerialfilming.com). I have CAA OSC extended permissions, one of the few drone pilots in the UK to do so, allowing me to fly to 1,000 feet height, 1,500 metres distance, & with a reduced separation of 20 metres.I'm First Option approved for film & TV work; I have BOSIET certification which allows me to work worldwide in the offshore wind, oil & gas industry; I have a full EU drone licence; & I have an FAA 'Part 107' qualification which allows me to fly drones commercially in the United States.
