Worked with print vendor to develop a process to place unique identifiers on printed books that would confirm it was a legitimate work. Further developed the process using QR codes to identify the global geographical location of each book. This tracking process identified instances of fraud and contractual distribution violations.Selected accomplishments:• Identified, compiled evidence, testified in court as an expert witness against a ring of pirates wholesaling counterfeit textbooks resulting in $33M judgment against them with $15M collected, YTD.• Investigated behavioral patterns of large-scale counterfeit distributors, generating actionable data to identify and prosecute bad actors. Pursued investigation working with 2 FBI agents leading to arrest. Subsequent court action resulted in a judgement of $135K awarded to company. • Developed process to place unique identifiers on individual textbooks allowing supply chain visibility and global tracking of piracy and arbitrage. Data provided identity of bad actors resulting in court judgements and recovered inventory worth $5M.
