Culture 3-5, Education 4-5Major refurbishment and adaptation to the Bloomsbury Theatre, including auditorium, public bars and circulation spaces, back of house facilities and technical areas also. Part of a wide development extending across the UCL Bloomsbury estate, to which this project required particular coordination with ongoing shows, lecturing and construction works on adjacent sites also.

Hotels 2-6, Residential 1-4, Offices 1-2, Culture 1-2Design development for Mid-Budget, Big-Brand, 150 bed Hotels in Manchester, progressing through planning and tendering stages through to working drawings and completing construction. Working with a range of consultants, drafting design details for façade and interior construction. Including bedroom, reception, bar & restaurant design, bedroom interface & significant acoustic detailing with regard for robust construction in a high traffic building with a significant outlook on brand standards and corporate image.Construction detailing for a four star, fifteen storey hotel on the London's South Bank. Careful consideration to site constraints of neighbouring buildings, with regard to structure, party wall matters and water ingress from the adjacent Thames. Working with Structural, Services and Facade engineers to resolve problems of uncovered site works & challenging environmental control requirements. Application of skills developed on lower budget hotels to a High-Budget Brand, with particular concern for detail to developing brand image requirements.Design of thirteen storey, 64 unit residential tower in Wembley for Private Sale / Social Rent in accordance with Local Authority and Lifetime Homes requirements, Working with Services, Structural, Transport and Fire engineers to develop a working feasible design, with associated reports onto a planning application submission.Concept and feasibility investigations for Office tower developments in Birmingham City Centre and community hall replacement in South London.

Housing B-KDesign, Master planning & Construction drawings for various suburban residential schemes.Liaising with Clients, Contractors, Local Authority Housing Associations and Planning Officers to form feasibility options into appropriate planning applications. Working with Project Managers, Quantity Surveyors and Engineers to develop working drawing packages through Novated Design & Build Procurement. Preparing for and participating in planning consultations with the local public, compiling drawings, visualisations, Design & Access reports & associated documentation. Developing working drawing packages designing to Lifetime Homes, Code For Sustainable Homes & Local Authority Housing Specification Requirements.

Office B-KFacade retention elements and considerable demolition and redevelopment to extend Banking offices on Fleet Street.Developing requirements of the design brief to form concept and detail designs for approval from City of London Statutory Authorities and onto Tender Processes and Contractor Selection. Liaising with Suppliers, Structural and Services Consultants, together with Building Control Approved Inspectors in progressing the technical design to resolve tight & challenging obstacles thrown up with existing buildings.Assisting in the administration of a traditional contract by attending, minuting and chairing monthly, technical and neighbours meetings. Forming Design Change Orders and responding to Requests For Information whilst commenting on Contractor Design Portion designs and developing construction drawing packages in response to an Information Request Schedule. Conducting weekly site observations in assisting the monitoring of quality of construction and addressing any technical problems that emerge through working with existing buildings.Regarded as a "Project Architect" for the duration of this scheme, the immense range of experiences granted to me under the supervision of the partners of Gibberd, allowed me to demonstrate an extensive and developed skill set throughout the architectural roles performed under traditional procurement. This proved immeasurably beneficial to me in completing my part 3 studies and attaining ARB registration. Twinned with a complex and challenging building project, site & location, working on this project project has provided me with wide ranging knowledge I can draw on and utilise, regularly applying to a variety of circumstances in the workplace.
