Originally educated as an Electronics Engineer I joined the railway industry in 1993, having been recruited as a signalling systems engineer at the British Rail Signalling Design Group in Reading.I moved into Project Management at Railtrack in 1996 where I have managed various projects from Signalling and Telecoms renewals, level crossing renewals, track (S&C) renewals, and on to the development of the major signalling schemes at Port Talbot and Newport. These projects also involved the design and construction of the new Control Centre at Cardiff.In 2008 I was promoted to the position of Senior Programme Manager on the Crossrail Project based at Sheldon Square, Paddington. Over the last 5 years I have been involved in the development and delivery of all 3 On-Network Spurs, as well as carrying out the programme management of the Control Period 5 Initial Industry Programme submission for signalling to the ORR.Now I have moved to manage the national ETCS programme through development at the ERTMS National Integration Facility, and supporting the development of schemes on both Western and East Coast Mainline.I am competent to act as CDM Co-Ordinator Representative for the major projects.Specialties: My engineering bias is signalling, although through my involvement in the development/delivery of the major signalling projects I am comfortable in the management and integration of all engineering disciplines within the industry.
