As Engineering Manager, responsible for the delivery of the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) Supportability package, my initial focus will be the assessment and identification of immediate areas of concern with regards to the Total Ship Reference Point (TSRP) solution and to incorporate CSC specific supportability design considerations where appropriate, through a robust Design for Supportability approach. The Supportability of the CSC will focus on delivering a CSC with a high availability and reliability with a low maintenance burden and a low through life cycle cost. In addition other aspects that are within the Supportability scope include an enhanced and modern training system with a reduced infrastructure impact and a responsive Integrated Data Environment and Supply Chain.

At Wentzell Engineering Limited my primary role is to perform Forensic Engineering tasks related to Fire & Explosion Investigation and Failure Analysis for clients in the insurance and legal communities. This includes site inspections and documentation (e.g. forensic photography, measurements, non-destructive and destructive testing, etc.), and analysis of all available data to develop an expert opinion with respect to the origin and/or cause of a fire or failure.Continuous professional development has resulted in becoming a registered Professional Engineer (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland & Labrador), a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI), a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI) and a certified site basic inspector in Wood Energy Technology Transfer (WETT).

Naval Engineering Test Establishment - tasked from the NATO Sea-Sparrow Project Office located in Washington, DC. Responsible to provide engineering support to countries employing the Mk48 and Mk-56 SeaSparrow Missile Launching Systems, on behalf of NATO SeaSparrow Project Office, Washington, DC. Also responsible to provide engineering support for the Mk220 Mod 1 Missile Launch Controller, (used with Mk41 Vertical Launch Systems firing RIM-7 SEASPARROW), the Mk114 Evolved Test Set (ETS) and the Mk701 Canister Test Set (CTS).

Fleet Maintenance Facility Cape Scott - Halifax, Ns

Responsible for the coordination and management of all the engineering and technical repair facility activities within Halifax Class Frigates and Iroquois Class Destroyers for the East Coast Fleet of the Royal Canadian Navy. Lead a team comprised of both military and civilian staff with a mandate to coordinate the technical/engineering requirements of the operational East Coast Fleet of the Royal Canadian Navy.

Joined the Navy out of High School as a Naval Weapons Technician, then competed for the University Training Plan for Non-Commissioned Members program, was accepted and became a Naval Combat Systems Engineering Officer and completed my Electrical Engineering Degree at the Royal Military College of Canada. Sailed from Halifax, NS and Victoria, BC, was posted to various bases which include CFB Cornwallis, CFB Halifax, CFB Esquimalt, CFB Kingston, and National Defence Headquarters in Ottawa, ON.

Responsible for the coordination of the annual program, human resources management and administrative functions for the school. The Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School has over 325 military and civilian staff and 450 students with a mandate to provide the technical education, training and certifications for sailors and officers in the Canadian Navy.

Responsible for the readiness, operation and maintenance of all communication, radar, sonar, navigation, weapon and hydraulic crane systems onboard the vessel. Provided direct oversight and leadership to 45 engineering technicians and 3 junior engineering officers.

Canadian Forces Naval Engineering School, Halifax, Ns

Ensure compliance with training doctrine for Naval Technicians within the Canadian Fleet and initiate necessary policy change in order to meet training requirements. Review course critiques validation surveys, and instructional techniques to ensure the highest quality of training is maintained.

Responsible for highly classified projects primarily related to underwater technical intelligence, also responsible to analyze global technical related intelligence in cooperation with various Canadian Agencies, and other international allies of Canada. • Project Management: Project manager of multiple multi-million dollar classified projects on an international level, often operating with little to no supervision with the added responsibility of maintaining Canadian National Security. • Security: Responsible for the security of a highly sensitive operational zone, including training of personnel, emergency response to security breaches, maintenance of multiple security systems, and access control of outside contractors to ensure security was maintained at all times. • Head of Delegation: Represented Canada at international security conferences, leading a team of engineers and scientists in the exchange of classified information while maintaining positive international relations and National Security interests.
