I have traveled extensively through out the world . Initially to play rugby in Canada and the USA. I have traveled extensively thru Europe and the continent of Africa from Morocco to SA along with South America Australia and the Pacific islands . Most of this was during my extended OE . I love local and international travel and the opportunities it brings are some of life's most valuable lessons . Still a lot to see out there .

HIRE A HUBBY IS A PROFESSIONAL HOME MAINTENANCE FRANCHISE .In this position I was a franchise owner in HB. I was the only 1st franchise and the only one for 4 yrs in HB in this position I was responsible for the running of my own business including , brand awareness, marketing and all activities associated with small business . I ran a successful business and was often asked to speak at national conference about my business and in particular on the subject of Brand awareness . I successfully sold this business in 1997 for the highest price to that date for a Hire a Hubby franchise .

In this position I was responsible for up to 79 production staff working on a day shift roster . The modern facility was responsible for producing high end lamb cuts to major markets through out the world, both fresh and frozen cuts , This facility was at the cutting edge of new and innovative industry technology. My main responsibilities where to maintain the smooth running of the production team ,to ensure all cut specification where meet and maintained in a time sensitive manner. Meeting extensive Health and Safety criteria as well as keeping production in line with strict MAF regulations .As well as liaise with Union officials and H&S officers, interdepartmental meetings and production planning .This position required a serious amount of skill to keep all things moving inside strict regulations and time lines .

In this position I was responsible for complete control of a staff of 35 and in charge of a turnover of in excess of 1m (pounds sterling). My main responsibilities included absolute authority in personnel matters, cash handling , stocktaking, stock control and staff training .This was an incredibly busy Public House on the edge of Wimbledon Common . What started as an OE job moved into a semi career, it was a job that I particular enjoyed because of its personal interaction with customers from all walks of life and the growth of these relationships into life time friendships . As well as the tremendous staff I was able to hire and form into a very close knit team who had to get along due to the nature of the business and the fact that 50 % of staff lived onsite. During my time as manager there I am proud to say that it fast became a pub that people wanted to work and live in over and above all the other options available to them, thus giving us a settled consistent staff that customers became to know and enjoy .

MY FIRST REAL JOB OUT OF SCHOOL WAS REALLY A CONTINUATION OF MY SCHOOL HOLIDAY JOB AS CASUAL LABOURER IN HAY GANGS FOR CASSIDY TRANSPORT (WHICH I STARTED WORKING IN WHEN I WAS 13)In this position I ran my first business organising myself and staff of 2 into agriculture work in the CHB district. We did anything from picking up hay and grabbed thistles to ploughing paddocks and general agriculture related work .
