Perform general labor tasks as directed such as cleaning of boats, facility and shop. Conduct fork truck operation such as moving cargo and the launch and recover of Seaward Services and CCD boat assets in support if their day to day mission.Assist, under the direction of the Captains, with the safe mooring, docking of the vessel in a variety of weather and water stage conditions. Actively Participate in vessel security duties and monitoring as required and report safety issues and report hazards to the Captain Immediately. Maintain a safe deck and work area free of gear drift, debris and equipment stowed properly. Assist in loading and unloading of vessel supplies, equipment and passenger. Routinely report the condition of vessel, and personnel; unusual developments; to the Captain. Defer to, and act in support of the Captain in the event of a real or simulated emergency. Participate in the safe operation of the vessel within the legal requirements of the USCG and other pertinent regulatory agencies under the supervision of the Mate. Assist the Mate with the operation and maintenance of the vessel in accordance with Seaward Service’s Caretaking Operations Manual, SMS and MSC's HST Technical Manual.

Ensured CHINOOK Sailor’s professional and personal needs were maintained to ensure their focus remained on the mission. My extraordinary ship handling knowledge contributed in the training and qualification of 5 Officer of the Decks Underway, 6 Conning Officers and 1 Surface Warfare Officer and the safe navigation of the ship covering over 400,000 nautical miles in the northern Arabian Gulf and surrounding areas My technical expertise and training contributed to the safe completion of 100 sea and anchors, 250 small boat operations, several astern refueling, small arms handling and ship board security. As Visit Board Search and Seizure (VBSS) team member and level II Coxswain I was involved in training of ship’s crew and the completion of 250 Small Boat and 80 VBSS operations all was in support of Partnership-Strength-Presence and Maritime Security.

Managed a 50 person watch team in the safe operation of 62 High Value Asset (HVA) escorts and 1600 hours of static defense security while deployed to UAE. Resulting in 100% safety rating and minimal impact to the civilian traffic. My networking skills were a key role in setting up and maintaining clear communication with the port authorities. Demonstrated outstanding levels of knowledge as Command Training Team member, providing training on navigation, deck seamanship, static security procedure, High Value asset security and escorting procedures, smalls handling and small boat tactics to 87 sailors. Resulting in the command passing the first-ever sustainment ULTRA. While onboard MSRON6 I conducted 15 small boat coxswain classes, training 40 personnel in small boat handling and tactics. I received my Small Craft Designation.

Managed a 25 personal in all facets of the Boatswain’s Mate rating. Supervised the safe execution of Anchoring, and 7 Meter (M)/11M RIB Small Boat Operations. Responsible for all maintenance associated with UNREP gear, and Small Boats. As a Qualified Conning Officer assisted in the safe navigation of over 150,000 nautical miles traveled by the USS Gonzalez in support of Operation Enduring Freedom while on Deployment. My knowledge of small boat operations and tactical experience was invaluable to the command in the safe execution of over 80 small boat operations including 40 VBSS mission one of which ended in a combative altercation with Somalian Pirates no casualties lost on our behalf.

Managed two divisions of 65 personal in all facets of the Boatswain’s Mate rating. Supervised the safe execution of all Well Deck, UNREP, Anchoring, and 7 Meter (M)/11M RIB Small Boat Operations. Responsible for all maintenance associated with Well Deck gear, Fork lifts and other cargo handling equipment and Small Boats. Developed and executed a strenuous training program for the material handling equipment, trained personnel in proper and safely handling of hazardous material ammunition and various other cargo onboard. My knowledge of small boat operations was invaluable to the command. Checking onboard they had no qualified or experienced coxswains for the 11 meter RHIB platform. I trained 6 new 7M/11M RIB coxswains at the command.
