Having spent nearly half of my life in the military, or supporting it professionally, I have adopted the philosophy that accomplishment of the mission/task always comes first. Everything else is secondary. No matter the conditions or circumstances, the mission/task must be accomplished in order for the team to be successful. Learning something new, putting in extra time/effort, taking on additional responsibilities, doing whatever it takes to ensure the team's success. In practice, that has resulted in me taking on roles as an instructor, curriculum developer, deployed field service representative, systems engineer, systems administrator, machinist, CAD designer, and student after being out of the classroom for nearly 25 years.Knowing yourself and seeking self-improvement are vital to remaining relevant in today's workforce. Gone are the days of singularly tasked employees. Being multitalented is just as important as being able to multi-task. I take great pride in my ability to quickly learn new things. From new software to new techniques or methods, I'm always eager to put in the time and effort to learn something new to aid in the team's success.
