Responsible for:developing, with input from Management Team and key stakeholders, a strategy for all CIPD content, ensuring everyone in the Institute is engaged with such a strategy, which will benefit our members and other customers developing relationships with HR Directors in the UKsetting up and developing a network for HR directors, finding speakers and sometimes chairing meetingsmanaging the Journals department (one manager, two other members of staff), retaining overall responsibility for People Management magazine (one of the biggest revenue streams for CIPD and its key member benefit) - responsible for a budget in excess of £10m, and a profit stream in excess of £3mdeveloping seminars, a Masterclass and a Keynote session for the CIPD Annual Conferenceretaining responsibility for the CIPD Recruitment Marketing Awards in partnership with the Guardian - committee member and Judge.

Responsible for:managing the relationship with the publishing company who produce the Institute's fortnightly magazine People Management and its websitenegotiating, with my Director, the new multi-million pound contract with the magazine, with significant improved revenue and other benefits representing the Institute in liaising with the magazine's staff, and the magazine in liaising with the Institute's staffensuring a high standard of customer service by providing key stakeholders in the Institute with the profile and presence they require in the magazinerepresenting the CIPD on the steering committee of the CIPD Recruitment Marketing Awards in partnership with the Guardian, and acting as judge monitoring and analysing the performance of the crucial revenue streams provided by the magazinelaunching a new magazine and website, Coaching at Workhelping to develop and launch the new People Management jobs site.

Responsible for:running the Institute's publishing department on a day-to-day basis, responsible for both budgets and revenuemanaging seven peoplecoming up with a creative strategy for business developmentproducing to schedule 35 new publications a year, in hard copy and electronic formatsimplementing a new IT system and database.

Responsible for:author and project management, and researching and commissioning 25 new HR, general business, legal and management titles a yearcreating and launching three new series, all of which were profitable, two particularly socreating and launching CIPD's first online productattracting the best-known US HR academic to write for CIPDhelping to improve the design of the books producedwriting copy for blurbs, press releases, magazine articles, catalogues and information for booksellers and reps.

Responsible for:meeting the demanding publishing and printing needs of a key Government departmentmanaging a team of fiveattracting new business and maintaining existing business.

Responsible for:project management - making sure key Cabinet Office publishing projects were published on time and to the quality requiredclient management - this once involved working a 21 hour day and staying at the office all night to get a report produced on time; also received a letter of thanks from the Cabinet Office for seeing through an urgent job by working until 3am.
