Day to day running of a store includes customer service and ensuring the level of fill and standards are correct across the stores range. Along with staff engagement and following all relevant legal frameworks set out by the company. Discount retailing is, and always will be a skill vs will game and putting the work in gives a huge output. A role I have relished since joining, the opportunity to really effect change in store again and have actual autonomy of your store is a huge plus for me. My store is limited only by my vision and my ability to engage my team, a company that is really driving forwards on the high street and a company I truly have felt welcomed by. My team has had a litany of managers come and go and to have been embraced by them is truly a golden moment in my years of retail.

Responsible for the successful launch of a brand new site. Embedded a brand new team into a completely empty shell. Filled the entire warehouse and front of house, along with fixtures and fittings across. Day to day involved customer services and sales driving, completely daily counts across the store to ensure compete stock compliance. Completing staff rotas, driving customer engagement regarding Trade accounts and ensuring complaints and issues were dealt with firsthand. All in all, a successful launch, however a role I found disappointing in my desire to fulfil my potential. Ultimately the opportunity to get back to what I know in Discount retailing was the reason for leaving.

As Store Manager, I am responsible for a number of staff in a variety of roles, ensuring we, as a store, maximise profits and minimise costs to the business.Whilst striving to achieve results from a KPI leading role, I also take great pride in encouraging and ensuring progression amongst all areas of my team.

In this position I was both, a support to my Store Manager and a guide for my store assistants. Training my colleagues on various new procedures and helping drive the store forwards with my superior.
