About Richard Halpin
A massive nerd from the earliest days, I have a very long view of our love/hate relationship with machines, gadgets, and technology. Hailing from the UK, I followed my passion for old, dusty things and became an archaeologist. After a little stint working for the Police, I refocused on my other loves of tech, teaching, and cattle rustling, moving to tranquil Houston, Texas, and studying for a Masters in Instructional Technology. This led to a job as Director of Educational Technology and Web at the UTHealth Houston School of Dentistry, an EdD in Professional Leadership, and much less spare time. My COVID hobbies included studying for an Executive MBA and learning how to make cocktails. I have run the same tabletop gaming website and podcast since 2003; I collect games of all kinds (specifically roleplaying and board games), regularly stream online, and can’t help trying to fix things.
