About Richard Hamill

President and Founder of the Will2Walk Rich Hamill was born and raised in Deckerville, Michigan. In 1992, he was ready to graduate from high school and attend college when he was injured during an automobile accident and paralyzed from the neck down. Through extensive physical therapy, Rich was able to regain strength in his upper body and some use of his hands.Rich went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration from Saginaw Valley State University and moved to Arizona for a fresh start. He took an entry-level job in the mailroom at Scottsdale Insurance Company, and worked his way up into the opportunity of being part of the first claims training unit and graduated in the first class of Claim Representatives. In 2008, he founded the Will2Walk Foundation, whose mission is to create awareness of spinal cord injuries and enhance quality of life for the injured while educating them on what they can do today to prepare for the cure. Through the Foundation, Rich has solidified relationships in the SCI communities in both Michigan and Arizona. Rich has been mentored on public speaking by award-winning author and motivational speaker Dr. Dennis Deaton, and is qualified to teach the Ownership Spirit class. He has been invited to share his story with businessmen, students, and rehab patients alike, and has traveled across the country to do so.Rich currently works as a Claim Specialist III for Nationwide E&S Insurance Company, and is married with twin girls who keep him as busy as he wants to be.... 😄
