As Vice President for Finance and Chief Financial Officer I serve as a member of the Executive Staff responsible for leading the Fiscal Office and overseeing the attainment of the University’s overall financial objectives. I help lead and communicate the University's financial strategy; policy and planning, including all financial, budgeting, treasury/cash management, financial reporting and tracking; and investment management for the University. I help provide appropriate financial-related reports, recommendations and analysis, including those related to the strategy and financial condition of the University, to the Board of Trustees, the Budget and Finance Committee, and Audit and Risk Committee; as well as to University leadership to ensure alignment in achieving the University’s financial objectives for achieving the University's mission. Our mission is to provide educational opportunity to adult learners with an emphasis on those historically under represented in higher education and to meet students where they are — academically and geographically, offering quality instruction and the assessment of learning.

Retired KPMG LLP Partner effective as September 30, 2017. At KPMG I managed the firm's New England Upstate New York IT Audit Practice responsible for four partners/managing directors delivering over $20 million in services to over 100 clients delivering IT Audit support, including Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (SOX), and System and Organization Controls (SOC) 1, 2 and 3 engagements for over 100 financial statement and SOC clients in the financial services, government, healthcare, technology and power and utility industries. Leading up to retirement, performed Audit Quality and Professional Practice Partner role overseeing more than 45 Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB) Inspections. Also was member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) ASEC Privacy System and Organization Controls (SOC) Working Group that issued the then current Trust Services Principles and Criteria for Security, Availability, Processing Integrity, Confidentiality, and Privacy and served on a KPMG task force evaluating and responding to the emerging AICPA Cybersecurity risk management framework and SOC criteria and attestation standards.
