Responsible to CEO and Board for all aspects of early stage micro-cap public company with global customer base that is innovating in aircraft data monitoring and communication. Scope included new product development, sales, support, investor relations, financing, and strategic partner development. During tenure, company sales tripled, key strategic programs were developed with NetJets and a foreign military customer, strategic partnerships developed with L-3, and company achieved recognition as first to automatically and continuously stream data from aircraft experiencing emergency situations in flight.

Responsible for analysis of external requirements and environments and internal competencies to define opportunities and new approaches to markets. Oversaw workouts and refocus strategies of two under-performing operating companies that were restored to growth and profitability. Drove recovery strategy and customer relations that recovered company's position in aviation standby display market in business aircraft and military markets. Member of corporate strategic development team that defined and implemented a new corporate strategy for a $1B+ multi-national corporation. Contributed to M&A activities by defining targets and performing analysis in support of investment decisions.

Following Goodrich's acquisition of Technology Integration Inc (TII), I provided the strategic guidance and business development for the transition of TII's aircraft diagnostics technology into a successful product line called IMD-HUMS and later IVHMS (Integrated Vehicle Health Monitoring Systems). We succeeded in winning the DoD competitions and also being the first HUMS system chosen for standard production on a major aircraft (Sikorsky S-92).

Founded TII and self-funded through consulting revenue until 1987 when TII won a US Navy contract to develop a fully automated diagnostic system for helicopter drive trains. Over the next 8 years, TII built an elite technical team that developed and fielded the Integrated Monitoring And Diagnostics System (IMADS), ROTABS (jointly with Vibro-Meter, Inc) for automated diagnostics and prescriptive maintenance of helicopter rotors, the Airport Noise and Operations Monitoring Systems (ANOMS), and the Integrated Mechanical Diagnostics-Health and Usage Management System (IMD-HUMS) for helicopter monitoring and diagnostics. Raised several million $ to fund growth and investment in product development and marketing. TII won 29 consecutive competitions for airport noise monitoring and flight tracking systems. Highly successful in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program in sensor technologies and signal processing for machinery diagnostics and acoustic detection of turbulence and air vehicles. Sold the business to Goodrich in 1995 to respond to US Government desire to buy IMD-HUMS from a large company.

Worked as an Engineering Scientist /Senior Scientist/ Aero Sciences department manager on various aspects of aeroacoustics, low noise concepts for wind tunnels, aircraft engines and helicopter rotors, specialized acoustic and vibration sensors development, atmospheric wind effects on buildings and sound propagation. Developed and led a group of 10-15 that performed contract R&D in these areas. Also responsible for business development with NASA, USAF, commercial and military aircraft manufacturers, and non-US entities. Left BBN in 1984 to start up Technology Integration, Inc.
