I joined this vessel as a new build and was heavily involved in the vessels set up from both an admin and operational point of view. The Third Officer role covers the Safety Officer and the Helicopter Responsible Officer roles onboard as well as watchkeeping, assisting the Chief Officer with their workload and helping on deck where possible.

As Second Officer on Drizzle, I was responsible for maintaining all the navigational, safety and operational equipment onboard, as well as running the decks day-to-day work and operations.

Build Bosun On-board Project SHU allowed me to be heavily involved with both the physical and operational set up of the vessel prior to launch. It allowed me to work on large projects and inspections as owner’s representative to ensure the vessels standards are maintained throughout the build.As we left yard and Project SHU became operational, sailing.

Working as swing Bosun, I would do a month on 6711 followed by a month on Flying Fox. This gave me valuable experience working on two different boats, with different crews and operations. I also had the opportunity to take over some of the Second Officer’s tasks, roles and responsibilities which helped me with my push to complete my OOW.during my time.

On board I was given many responsibilities, including managing a six-man deck crew for two months while the boat was in the shipyard. In conjunction with these responsibilities, I was the main tender driver on board and did the weekly chart corrections along with many other duties.
