Set up the company along with 4 Tees Bay Pilots to promote safety training courses with the intention of improving the relationship between the Pilot and the Master as well as the bridge team. Worked closely with 2 leading oil companies as well as a nautical college in the UK and the North East P&I Club to create course. The Course has been attended by Pilots from around the world.

Started working for Chevron Shipping from 1st February 2013 and seconded back to ALNG. I spent time in San Ramon, Richmond refinery, El Segundo refinery and with the LNG project team in Houston as well as STS operations of Long Beach. I have given a marine input into:• Kitimat LNG project.• Carried out pilot and port operation reviews at Richmond, El Segundo and lightering operations.• Worked with Richmond Pilots to produce a pilot training procedure.• Passaged onboard the Northwest Swan..

Worked for Angola LNG between Jan ’11 until Aug ’14. Responsibilities included:• Training of the Pilot Loading Masters and working closely with Force Technology to facilitate the initial and ongoing pilot training program. • Work closely with the MSA vendor (Svitzer) in their initial setting up their facility in Soyo, including developing and carrying out training programs for the various vessels and disciplines on the project.• Setting up of the new Soyo VTS Center, recruited and trained Angolan nationals, developing new port rules and regulations, working closely with Government bodies.• Developed maintenance contracts for various marine related equipment on the project.• Carried out commissioning of the various marine related equipment, including berths, VTS equipment etc.• Completed pilotage and loading operations for vessels calling at the terminal

As I Tees Bay Pilot I gained practical experience of ships handling, as a senior pilot handled all types of vessels visiting Teesport and Hartlepool. I also managed to gain experience on the pilot’s committee engaged in meeting with PD Ports, Terminal operators and management, agents, Svitzer etc. Also worked closely with Excelerate on their Teesport LNG berth, Conocco Phillips carrying out a study for bringing Qmax LNG vessels into their terminal, PD Ports on the Northern Gateway Container Terminal as well as wind farm projects for the port of Hartlepool, worked with Able UK when the french aircraft carrier Clemenceau was brought to their yard for scarp ping. During my time as a Tees Pilot I worked closely with any company who looked at future business on the Tees.

Working for BP for 10 years, although some time ago now, give me a fantastic insight into how a major oil company works and the back ground knowledge of the shipping industry along with practical experience for working oil tankers, product tankers and LNG ships.Worked my way through the ranks at BP from cadet to Chief Officer servicing on most types of BP tanker on a worldwide trade.

Start my career with BP in 1990, work my way from a cadet through through to Chief Office and obtaining my Masters CoC.Sailed on VLCC's, Aframax tankers, product tanker and LNG carriers, trading worked wide.
