I joined the team at Health-on-Line as a Senior Developer to work on re-writing the private medical insurance policy administration system that the company has been developing over the previous 10 years. Working with a team of 6 members, we worked with the stakeholders within the business to develop a system that would allow the business to continue to grow and introduced a number of business process savings. Shortly after joining the team, I became the team lead and worked with the developers and the business stakeholders to make sure that we were always focused on what the business needed and delivered the maximum value to the business.The technologies used during this project were:- ASP.Net Web API- DurandalJS SPA (Similar to AngularJS)- WCF- Unity IoC- Log4Net- EntityFramework- SQL Server 2008

Working with this Microsoft partner, I have been heavily involved in designing the architecture of their web based marketing platform that uses the latest technologies to deliver a solution that significantly increases and maximises marketing agencies productivity.Taking on the role as the project lead in recent projects I have been mentoring other developers (senior and junior) to help them achieve the team’s end goal of delivering a system that exceeds the expectations and specifications of our stakeholders to enable them to ultimately drive forward their business plans through providing systems that aid their profitability and efficiency.The platform is implemented as a highly scalable enterprise level solution designed for the global market and delivers this using a granular SOA model and by leveraging products like SQL Server. Starting at the company as their first and only developer for the first year, I was instrumental in architecting, implementing and then successfully delivering the company’s medically focused query engine. Using Scrum as a methodology, this project was completed within the time scales defined partly through planning and partly through my attitude of going the extra mile to make sure the target was hit. The engines flexibility was proven over the next two years as it was easily extended by the company’s expanding team of developers.I architected the next product and successfully lead a team of developers to get create a prototype system within a very short and strict deadline to win a new client’s business. We then went on to successfully deliver the complete product to the client using the latest web technologies. I was in a team driving forward one of their flagship products that automates settlements between trading parties allowing brokers/dealers to reconcile and correct trade data to prevent trade failure. Bright-Tech Developments is an ISO9001:2000 registered company who design and manufacture large scale LED displays and control systems to connect their displays to third-party products. The displays main usage is for the bus and coach industry requiring a high level of robust design but they have also been used for other external uses such as warnings or advertising.My role at Bright-Tech was to work with the Operations Director and the development team to take users requirements and from the captured specification, design hardware and software (PC and firmware) solutions to achieve the users end goal. During my time at Bright-Tech I used a number of software tools to realise my designs including: • Circuit & PCB Design suites e.g. MultiSim and Proteus • AutoCAD 2007 for mechanical design • Keil µVision 2 (embedded C and assembly code) • Visual Studio 2005 (C# WinForms)An example of the type of projects that I was working on is a system that measures the distance under a bridge from the underside of the bridge to the rising or falling water level and then reports this information to a number of our LED display systems. The purpose of the display solution was to enable boats to know if their vessel will pass underneath the bridge safely. I was responsible for the project from requirements gathering through to technical design & implementation and then on-site installation and support. I designed the new hardware required to communicate with the sonar device which I had sourced and crafted the software to interpret the input and create text based messages for the display systems. This system was initially challenged by the harbour master as his tide charts were not in-line with the results that my system was recording. He then discovered that my displayed results were more accurate than his so he was able to correct his figures.
