KEY ACHIEVEMENTS- Formed a fully functional Underwriting Governance Team reporting directly into the Chief Underwriting Officer, covering oversight on contract governance, agency, quality assurance, E&O / breach management, technical underwriter training, acquisition due diligence, product governance and regular detailed executive reporting.-Designed and implemented the “Underwriting Governance Rulebook’ to enable underwriting businesses to adhere to the group policies and standards, meet regulatory requirements and drive cultural change, without impacting business delivery. Managed the strategic audit programme to monitor adherence to the rulebook across the MGA.- Led technical underwriting reviews in the regional offices, to ensure remediation plans were being adhered to prior to the sale of £130m GWP of commercial business to Arch.- Development and delivery of the ‘six stages of underwriting’ training to over 150 underwriters in 15 regional offices, driving consistent and robust underwriting practices, manage performance and to builder carrier confidence.- With over 100 diverse products within the MGA, chaired the MGA Product Governance Committee (PGC) to support the executive and provide oversight, approval and escalation to the MGA Underwriting Committee on all matters concerning product governance.- Developed the new underwriting licencing framework for the MGA re-deploying over 150 licences electronically, to improve oversight controls across multiple classes.- Technical support and oversight to the design and implementation of group policy and business standards to meet company and regulatory minimum standards.- Designed and implemented ‘end to end’ conduct risk focussed audit lifecycle for auditors to support sub-delegated business in the MGA.

- Led and managed a team of auditors for the annual audit of circa fifty 3rd party Sub-Delegated Authority Brokers.- Manage the breach and E&O process for the personal lines team, following group policy and standards, reporting into the executive board.

• Product and service development – Worked with the actuaries to deliver a direct underwriter airline pricing tool to fee paying clients.• Realistic Disaster Scenario (RDS) and; As if analysis - Worked with brokers and underwriters to establish robust RDS analysis and exposure management across client portfolios.• Reinsurance analysis and evaluation - Provided continuous support to the placing brokers, through reporting, assisting with the placement of new business and renewals.• Data collection, analysis - Responsible for the management of the data collection team who supply market aviation insurance information to the client base through research and bespoke analysis.• Relationship management - Managed the development of the aviation risk portal, which included the project initiation, budget estimation/management, requirements specification and resource management (both on-shore and off-shore).• Managed the ongoing administration and development of the (on-line) airline risk pricing product (GAUSS) which generated over £1m of annual income for the business.• Coordinated the development and implementation of ACRaSh, the online aviation loss database, used by over 200 users from 30 international insurance clients including the setting of market reserves on aviation losses.

Part of the Underwriter Portfolio Services Team which has a diverse role, from calculating underwriter reinsurance recoveries, dealing with claims disputes, to ensuring timely payment of claims. Underwriter assumed outwards reinsurance role, administrating underwriters monthly account including management reporting.
