About Richard Kearns
Richard Kearns is a Retired at My Life is Blessed. He possess expertise in soc, leadership, cross functional team leadership, semiconductor industry, debugging and 3 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working with Rich in a variety of roles during my seventeen years with Intel in Hudson, MA. Rich came to Hudson to help educate me and others about Intel systems after the site was acquired from Digital Equipment Corp. Rich provided a wealth of knowledge in product engineering, change management, quality systems and many other Intel processes. One of the most enjoyable experiences over the years was during our factory’s lean transformation. Rich and I were responsible for helping to coordinate a one week “Lean Experience” training class for Intel employees to introduce them to lean rules and principles. We partnered with a few other Intel employees to deliver a curriculum through a variety of lectures and hands-on exercises. We were able to put over 400 employees through the one week training, with participants coming from all across Intel, including from as far away as Costa Rica, Israel and Malaysia. Rich also worked with a small team to develop a four hour version of the lean training, and this shortened version was rolled out to hundreds of manufacturing technicians across all manufacturing shifts, including nights and weekends. Over the course of a few years, our efforts led to the factory’s operational cycle time decreasing from approximately 57 days to 23 days, equipment downtime was cut in half, and costs were reduced by 13%. I have fond memories of my days at Intel, and it was largely due to the high caliber of people I worked with, people like Rich who truly made it a great place to work through his dedication, motivation and camaraderie." and "Rich is a very experienced mentor and coach for his direct reports and not simply a people manager. I was a direct report to Rich for several years and across multiple projects during our time at Intel. He consistently provided the encouragement and support to grow myself and those that reported to him. He provided the necessary guidance for individuals to independently execute their work to make a positive impact to the project and their career path. He brought the team together to elevate the small wins by individuals, the greater success of the team, and a positive focus on improvement when the team fell short. Rich worked to ensure that the company culture and team culture were aligned to build and grow a high performing team regardless of the challenges. He demonstrates and values constructive problem solving and focuses on achieving a solution. He holds his direct reports to the same level of accountability as he does himself to strive for continuous learning and recognizing everyone for their contributions to a discussion regardless of their seniority or experience."
Listed skills include Soc, Leadership, Cross Functional Team Leadership, Semiconductor Industry, and 4 others.
