-The Paramedic works in the full service Emergency Room (ER), treating all ages. -This role assumes the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive nursing care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Medical Director. -Under the direction of a health care practitioner, the Paramedic provides patient care within a defined scope of practice that includes patient care/observation, specified treatments and procedures; provision of environmental and personal safety, and effective communication. -The Paramedic will also be responsible to collect pertinent data within their certification scope of responsibilities and report these clinical, psychosocial, etc., findings to the RN or ER medical provider and documents appropriately. -Works in collaboration with RNs and Medical Providers to provide patient care to medical and trauma patients utilizing advanced skills and judgment.

-This classification performs technical work in the provision of advanced emergency medical care and transportation under the direction of a physician, by written protocol or direct communication, provides advanced emergency medical care (Advanced Life Support - ALS) for the sick and injured as defined in Florida Statute and Florida Administrative Code and local Medical Director authored protocols. -Work requires extensive knowledge in Basic and Advanced Emergency Medical Care, Incident Command Management (ICS), basic rescue procedures, Basic Hazardous Materials Response, Emergency Vehicle Operations, patient handling techniques, Critical Incident Stress Management, thorough knowledge of the geography of Manatee County, and the ability to direct the work of others. -Must pass department-approved Agility Test.

-Work cohesively with the HSA, DON and RN(s) in the coordination of the healthcare delivery system and intake/booking operations, as well as other functions within the facility.-Use all functions and applications of TechCareTM relevant to the position with no supervision, and assist with staff training as requested.-Take and document all patient history and vital signs, complete intake screening, administer and read PPD, draw blood as required, assist with examinations and/or treatments, and assess and report all changes in patients’ conditions.-Ensure that all clinical services provided within the facility’s intake/booking area conform to state licensure, accreditation, regulatory agency requirements, and company policies and procedures.-Demonstrate professionalism by using objectivity, maintaining self-control when under pressure, separating professional from personal issues, displaying emotional maturity, maintaining a high degree of integrity, and promoting a positive work environment by setting an example.

-Work in a 32 bed, full service Emergency Department, treating all ages.-Assume the responsibility for assisting with the implementation of supportive clinical care.-Care includes strong clinical skills, clerical/courier duties, stocking, transporting, performing EKGs, phlebotomy, IVs, and specific patient care duties.-Demonstrate Service Excellence at all times.

-Maintaining applicable licenses for ESRI products, and licenses for third-party GIS software.-Cataloging, maintaining, and updating geographic and tabular data.-Routine conversion of data to various platforms such as CAD, KML-Facilitate user training of map products and software (ESRI, GOOGLE, or other choices).-Introduce new methods of displaying and cataloging geographic data.

-Maintain GIS data and CAD drawings for operations and engineering personnel in order to ensure effective construction of the system.-Utilize GIS and drafting skills to enhance maps while adhering to standards and procedures.-Perform quality assurance and quality control of GIS and mapping data to ensure data integrity and accuracy.-Participate in efforts to design special maps, displays, and queries to meet end-users’ business requirements on request.-Assist individual users with how to utilize and understand the GIS program.

-Responsible for maintaining and updating mapping systems.-Assist with preliminary analysis and data acquisition for main extensions and system improvements.-Interacts with and provides system information to all departments of the company including construction, service, sales, and customer information.-Ensures that Peoples Gas local employees are trained in the use of the mapping systems.-Corresponds with local and state agencies, developers, and engineering firms to provide assistance with infrastructure, environmental, and regulatory changes.-Assist company operations with various field surveys including Cathodic Protection and Leak Survey.
