I am the news and online editor at CSW, overseeing its online content and daily news bulletins read across Whitehall, Westminster and the public sector.

Senior reporter at Public Finance covering UK politics, public policy and finance.I am responsible for leading Public Finance's political news output for the publication's audience of politicians, civil servants and senior local government officers. As well as filing political stories from Whitehall and local government I also break exclusive interviews for the daily email newsletter sent to over 28,000 subscribers every day. I am an experienced reporter on parliamentary debates and select committee hearings in both Westminster and Holyrood. This has seen me build up contacts with senior and influential parliamentarians, allowing me to undertake exclusive interviews with select committee chairs Meg Hillier, Clive Betts, Bernard Jenkin and Graham Allen. I have developed the publication's social media presence, primarily on Facebok and Twitter, while on Twitter I have developed my own presence as @richardjpf. I have reported quickly and accurately on political events, such as election counts, as well as party political conferences, attending fringe events in order to generate stories.As part of my responsibilities, I have also taken on a news editing role for the Public Finance website. I news edit stories from other journalists as well as commissioning external contributors for blog articles. In addition to ensuring the stories are optimised for search engines, I work to make sure articles are clear, suited to the audience and include links to make the content accessible in a number of ways.During this period I also spent a year as the title's acting news editor.

Reporter for NCE, mainly covering transport issues for the magazine - both news and features.In this post, I built up contacts throughout the both the business and political world in both Scotland and London. On this post, I reported in the financing of a number of public sector transport project, including the funding of the Mersey Gateway bridge, the development of the tax increment financing model and City of Edinburgh Council's plans to borrow to pay for the city's planned tram network.

At RAIL magazine, the industry leading magazine for the rail industry, I covered the whole of the modern rail industry for an industry leading title. This including exclusive stories on the delay of work on the North London Line and exclusive news story for the magazine from high speed rail campaigner Jim Steer about the development of the government's high speed rail plans. In this role I have also reported on the financial position of the big transport groups concisely and accurately, including eliciting comment from leading investment analysts.

Reporting on Scottish politics for Scotland's award-wining current affairs magazine, including as the title's transport correspondent, with experience of interviewing a host of politicians and business figures.At Holyrood magazine, I broke a number of exclusive political and business stories for the magazine's audience of members of the Scottish Parliament, Scottish Westminster MPs, councillors and members of the Scottish civic society and businesses. In this post, I interviewed such leading figures as Alex Salmond, the Scottish First Minister, and John Swinney and Stewart Stevenson, respectively the Finance Secretary and Transport Minister in the Scottish Government. I have also built up contacts across some of Britain's top companies, including Network Rail, FirstGroup and Stagecoach when reporting of the transport sector. Exclusive stories include breaking the news that the owner of Prestwick airport had an interest in buying another Scottish airport, detailing plans for an private sector infrastructure fund to team up with the Scottish Government, and the regional transport plans across the country. It was following my work at Holyrood that I was nominated and highly commended at the 2008 PPA Scottish Magazine awards in the feature writer of the year category.
