On top of this VMware was implemented as the virtualisation platform in 2007, taking the organisations physical server fleet and reducing to 30% of the original number and building on VMware's HA, DRS and snapshot technologies allowing improvement through the IT operations processes from improved backup and retention to testing of server applications via cloning,snapshotting and rollback.Implementation of exchange replacing lotus notes was tied in with migrating the entire structure to active directory,(2001). This was then later upgraded to exchange 2003 along with active directory upgrades which was finally set at 2008 R2 native in 2013. This also included site links out to periperal sites around the county and transitive Trusts between key suppliers AD domains and forests fir specific clinical applications and PAS integration.Remodelling of processes and standardisation of group policies allowed for easy deployment of 200+ printers to specific clinical user and also to specific role based PCs.My customisation of the AD schema allowed me to integrate required fields / variables for storing key information about NHS mail details against user accounts.As the lead technician and manager of the Operations team this was achieve with the support of my team of 1 ops engineer and 1 Network/ops engineer.
