Currently serving on the Space Launch Systems (SLS) Program as a Design Project Specialist (DPS) for the Explorer Upper Stage (EUS). Responsible for conducting and managing Virtual Product Reviews (VPR), which are part of the Product Development Layout Process (PDLP). Work to coordinate the flow of data between the various Integrated Product Teams (IPT) as the design matures, and to assess, document, and manage associated risks, issues and opportunities. I also serve as the Change Integration Review (CIR) representative for the EUS Design Team, coordinating design impacts with the Responsible Engineers (RE) to provide cost and schedule analysis and impacts to changes that are processed through the change board. Additional areas of responsibility include preparation of Basis of Estimate (BOE) for internal and customer driven impacts in the Change Processing and Estimating System (CPES), tracking of MET’s and RID’s, and management and status reporting of drawings as they are submitted through the release process.

Manager in charge of the Production Planning and Control (PPC) department, consisting of six production planners that were responsible for scheduling, planning and execution of all aspects of manufacturing. We provided labor and material estimates for Basis of Estimate (BOE), reviewed Statements of Work (SOW), developed Production Bills of Material (PBOM’s), conducted make/buy analysis reviews, submitted Requests for Quote (RFQ) and tracked Purchase Order (PO) deliveries in support of the Logistical Support Facility (LSF) contract on the UH-60 Blackhawk, CH-47 Chinook, OH-58 Kiowa, and AH-64 Apache helicopters.

Directed nine employees in the Delta IV Common Booster Core assembly area, 2nd Stage assembly area, and the Interstage assembly areas. Duties included: coordination with day shift managers, tracking of engineering changes, resolving assembly & test issues, monitoring work assignments, resolution and closure of hardware nonconformance’s, managing the cost center budget, development and implementation of process improvements, and providing status to senior management. Required to coach, counsel and mentor employees to keep them motivated to meet goals and targets.

Developed and implemented manufacturing processes for the Integrated Assembly and Check-out area of the Delta IV Rocket production facility. Ensured completion and documentation of manufacturing assembly activities. Developed move plans for overhead crane usage, and acted as safety person in charge of moves. Supported resolution and closure of nonconformance’s and production related issues. Dispositioned non-conformance reports, and provided root cause and preventive measures analysis. Reviewed engineering drawings for producibility. Decomposed drawings and requirements into manufacturing work instructions. Identified tooling requirements, scheduled tooling for recertification or calibration. Developed Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM). Reviewed cost and schedule impacts of proposed engineering changes.

Provided liaison support between manufacturing, assembly, test, design engineering, and quality control on the Delta II & III Rocket. Decomposed engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to create work instructions and Manufacturing Bills of Material (MBOM) that document configuration assembly and testing of the hardware. Investigated critical manufacturing issues, and analyzed new technologies, concepts and processes that simplify and improve manufacturing processes. Established processes for managing tooling, and implemented lean manufacturing techniques designed to improve work flow. Supported the Material Review Board (MRB) in the implementation of rework planning, and resolution and closure of non-conformances.
