I'm a specialist in risk management related to natural hazards/climate change and river/watershed revitalization. My experience ranges from risk assessment/mapping to the planning and implementation of nature based, structural and nonstructural measures for risk mitigation and watershed revitalization.I have worked in development cooperation (Caribbean, Central America, Latin America and North-East Asia), academia and technical consulting companies and last but not least National Parks (USA, Austria, Germany). As a consequence I'm familiar with a large variety of different stakeholders, their interests, goals and specific languages. I like to be at the interface of these different stakeholders and coordinate their often divergent and ambiguous interests towards a common goal. In addition I have a sound theoretical knowledge of international management and complexity management. To protect landscapes is my passion and I want to help achieving the goal of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity to protect at last 30% of the world's land by 2030 and 50% later on. I can do this by assisting owner of protected areas as National Parks, land trusts, other public or private entities,... in their efforts to revitalize watersheds and rivers and thereby also reducing the risk of natural hazards as floods and debris flows also for the downstream areas of the watersheds.
