In a school report, an English teacher wrote, ‘Wit is no substitute for wits.’ That was a while back. More recently, a CEO noted that ‘Richard can make the complex, simple, and the simple, complex.’ I accept both jabs. I suspect that under examination, I’d tick a lot of the fashionable labels for dysfunctions. It’s just that I don’t think outside the box, I don’t see the box. If nobody’s irreplaceable, where does the concept of unique come from?

As a freelance, you dance to different beats. For the time being I’ve decided to shift the tempo to other things. I’m upping my commitment to Danish Pilots at an interesting time in their history, continuing to help out in the kitchens of Kvik and putting time and energy into creating a festival in my adopted hometown of Svendborg. I’ve also a second and a third book in my head that I need to get out. So, goodbye to KOMPAN. It is all change to the schedule with no room, or plans, for a walking stick, a subscription to the Telegraph or learning how to forget things. (At which I’m already reasonably proficient.)
