The Mara Rianda Charitable Trust is a UK charity established in 2004. The charity primarily supports Mara Rianda and Enkereri Primary Schools as well as other local schools and the Maasai community. The charity primarily supports Mara Rianda and Enkereri Primary Schools as well as other local schools and the Maasai community. The charity has, amongst many other things, funded the provision of fresh water to two schools, the building of dormitories for over 300 children as well as classrooms, kitchens and dining room. It assists in funding teachers and the supply of school materials etc. It has also funded the building of a maternity clinic and a separate large medical centre. It provides bursaries for the secondary school education of children whose families are unable to support them. An equal amount of boys and girls are supported and as at 2023 nearly 200 children have received bursaries.During the COVID pandemic there were no tourists in the Mara and consequently no work or income for the Maasai. The charity was able to provide over £32,000 to assist the community with food, health and other provisions. We are extremely grateful to Governors’ Camp in providing the logistics to undertake this.The charity prides itself on having never undertaken any fundraising; it relies purely on voluntary donations given from the heart by those of have heard of and want to support the charity.
