For the final rotation of the EGLP, I worked as a test engineer in GKN Driveline Köping's test department. Mainly focusing on daily work as I test engineer, I am used these 6 months to gain a deeper understanding of the AWD products GKN has to offer, as well as further my knowledge of product validation ways of working. I have also been given the opportunity to lead a team that will develop and implement a new inventory management system for the department.

For my third assignment on the EGLP, I am worked in Driveline Birmingham's logistics department. The main scope of the project was the implementation of a logistics tow train, to replace forklift trucks for the movement of material within the factory. The tow train provides a safer, leaner and more dynamic solution than the traditional forklifts currently used. A step away from the engineering based work I have done, this project has allowed greater interaction with many different areas of the business. Leading cross functional meetings and presenting updates to upper management has allowed me to develop skills that may be slightly neglects in a more engineering based project.

Gkn Driveline Sa

For my second assignment on the EGLP, I worked in GKN Driveline Carrieres - France. Again another engineering based placement, in this role I supported the European Value Engineering coordinator. Amongst other things, my main area of focus was in supporting the development of a new production change management procedure to be included in the new Driveline Excellence System.

For my first assignment on the European Graduate programme I was based in Birmingham, working as an Application Engineer within the Toyota customer account team. Being involved in multiple new Toyota programs, as well as supporting VAVE projects on existing models, I gained a large amount of product knowledge as well as showing my ability to communicate well with the customer and work successfully in a team.

I have spent 12 months as a year in industry student, supported by the EDT. Working as a student engineer in the Physical test and analysis department at GKN Driveline Birmingham. I also worked as a vehicle test engineer at the new GKN vehicle engineering site based at MIRA proving ground. The work I undertook in this placement lead me into a position on GKN Driveline's European Graduate Leadership Program, which commenced upon completion of my degree.
