Richard Marsh is an economist and Director of 4-consulting based in Scotland. He previously worked as an Associate Director with DTZ, an international real estate company. He is an elected Fellow of the UK’s Royal Statistical Society and a member of the Scottish Government’s expert group advising on economic accounting, impact modelling and economic statistics.Richard has worked for governments across Europe and the Middle East, economic development agencies, local authorities, multinational businesses, funding bodies and colleges and universities. His work has been published in peer reviewed journals, presented at academic conferences with his work widely cited in the media (including the BBC, the Economist and The New York Times).Specialities: Modelling of regional and local economies, modelling of regional and local labour markets, evaluation and appraisal of projects and policies, providing evidence to support development applications.Richard is currently revisiting his childhood sport of Judo with Carnegie Judo Club to both keep fit and indulge in a mid-life crisis. Currently moved up to a brown belt and won a gold medal at the 2023 Yorkshire & Humberside Masters and Silver medal at the 2023 British Masters (which currently beats all the other achievements above).
