Oversee the administration of minor accidents and assist in the staffing management of the Paratransit operation. Gather accident/incident information and compile accident report. Determine preventable or non-preventable classification for minor accidents/incidents. Interview & assess appropriate disciplinary action. Minor accident department point of contact. Major accident consultation. Assist with the updating of the general policies and procedures. Assist with the operations general run sign-up. Assist with the operations vacation sign-up. Represent Paratransit Services at the traffic mitigation meetings. Participate in the New Hire Interviews. Manage the Safety Award incentive program.

Manage daily operations of a multi-department to include Safety, Training and Accident Investigation. Direct Instructors with daily duties and responsibilities.

Update training materials. Organize new hire and pre-employment training program and class schedule. Conduct new hire classroom training and commercial driver’s license training and upgrades.

Evaluate skills and abilities of new hire employee to determine if they are able to adequately perform the duties of a Paratransit Operator.

Assign Operator’s to various routes, ensure that each Operator is fit for duty, punctual and has a safe vehicle to operate. Ensure that Operator trip sheets are completed accurately. Collect cash and coupon accumulated from all Operator’s throughout their daily routes. Balance daily intake of all cash and coupons collected. Intake of Operator call out absences. Ensure that all routes are covered.

Safely operate a twenty five feet vehicle to pick up and drop off passengers with various disabilities. Ensure that each passenger boards and alights safely. Secure wheelchair devices with securement tie downs. Assist ambulatory passengers with fastening their seat belts. Accurately complete trip sheets. Able to use sound judgment to determine the best possible route in picking up and dropping off passengers in an effective and timely manner. Communicate with dispatcher using a mobile data terminal unit to determine if there are any unplanned changes or special circumstances.
