Until December 2022, I held the position of Deputy Head of School (Computing and Engineering) at the South Eastern Regional College in Northern Ireland. In this role I was responsible for all level 4 and 5 Engineering programmes including Pearson and university Foundation Degree courses. I believe my experience as demonstrated by Chartered Engineering (CEng), and Senior Fellow in the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) membership, together with years of experience in teaching, management and engineering, will prove invaluable in this new role as Engineering Education Consultant.Work undertaken in 2023 and 2024 includes benchmarking Chinese College Engineering programmes against RQF level 4 and 5 for Ecctis. As part of this work, I travelled to China to visit some of these colleges and participated in the 2023 EducationPlus (7th) China (Changsha) International Vocational Education Conference and Industry-Education Integration Expo.I also consulted on a level 2 City & Guilds engineering qualification for the Royal Saudi Air Force working for Alphaplus. This also required travel to Bahrain for face-to-face consultations.
