I joined CDS Group on the 21st October 2013 as CAD Design Manager. My responsibilities are producing retail concept design layouts & full construction packs for clients such as; Samsung, The Post Office, The Range & Car Phone Warehouse. Working with Cheil design on the roll out of the Samsung UK store programme.Implemented the installation of a costing system to extract quantities of equipment from AutoCAD drawings with costing reports, bills of material & equipment orders.

Returned an annual saving of £1.4m against UK equipment production costs by establishing direct manufacturing of all retail fixtures & fittings in China. Worked cross functionally to establish origin based logistics and storage facilities in Southern China. Liase with internal streams to design equipment prototypes, following through to production. Regular trips to China and Hong Kong sourcing suppliers and overseeing Quality Control, prototype sign off and ensuring Ethical Trading and SEDEX approval of all manufacturing facilities. Direct contact with Chinese suppliers regarding proposed bulk orders, negotiating cost prices, obtaining relevant quotes, production timings and payment of invoices. Regular conference calls with Chinese suppliers and storage hubs. Oversee weekly global stock holding and produce monthly reports stating current stock levels. Approval of all global equipment bulk orders prior to placement and monitor all bulk shipping from China to the UK to ensure equipment availability.Built up a reliable supplier base in the UK and China. Constantly refreshing & extending the supplier base to drive global competitive pricing.

Produced retail store layouts from initial outline to final signed off plan by utilising information contained within the store pro-forma which related to specific store requirements. The store optimiser which dealt with linear count verses sales per sq.ft enabling achievement of projected profit margins. Liaised with Marketing to ensure consistency with current brand guidelines. Participated in the Store Planning meetings to discuss current store proposals with functional heads to ensure that “best fit” criteria has been satisfied in all aspects prior to submission to the SIT committee. Designed and developed robust processes and a tracker that enabled the prioritisation of the workload that ensured the successful delivery of the annual 160+ UK and Internationally franchised stores spanning 62 countries were delivered on time and to deadline. Attended site meetings, store visits and carried out site surveys to obtain dimensional and retail equipment information to enable accurate as fitted plans to be produced.Implemented the use of AutoCAD and subsequently AutoCAD Revit software into Mothercare UK Ltd. This enabled the computerisation of drawing production and subsequent 3D visualisations of proposed stores showing design intentions therefore minimising abortive on site construction costs. Developed and installed a bespoke costing system which extracts the exact items of equipment from the drawing that each store requires with unit price, supplier data and automatic email ordering. Initiated Retail Equipment manuals for new Brand styles of Mothercare and Early Learning Centre with Revit 3D images, material and carton specifications. Ensuring consistency and clarity of Brand identity.Excellent planning, organisation and time management skills. Proficient in AutoCAD and experience of Revit Architecture 2013, Photoshop and Microsoft Office products. Impeccable attention to detail, conscientious and versatile.
